The mother of Allison's wife came from Belfast. Curiously the wife's surname was Gibson - which was a family name of Allison's too. At least two of Allison's daughters came to live in Belfast after he died. I suspected the Gibson connection was not coincidental and it seems - from a hastily compiled tree - they were second cousins, sharing a great-grandfather Ambrose Gibson from Scarborough.
