Ewart
Background
Various references to Ewart in the Lennon-Wylie collections
To anyone familiar with the history of Belfast, Ewart will be a stand-out family name. William Ewart & Son was one of the biggest linen manufacturers in the world and while the linen industry has floundered, the family name still lives on in various guises in Belfast such as "Ewart's Row" and the Ewart Building on Bedford Street. It would seem a fairly reasonable initial assumption that any items bearing the name Ewart in the LW collections will be connected to this family.

Relevant Ewart Genealogy
Sir William Quartus Ewart (1844-1919) - as his name suggests, was the fourth generation of William Ewart. The first being the founder of the cotton mill.
William Q. Ewart married Mary Warren Heard (Kinsale, 23 November 1876) - (Is she connected to the other Warrens on this site ? I do not yet know)
They had a number of offspring including Margaret (or Mary) Gundreda Ewart and Isabella Kelso Ewart. I am assuming that 'Kelsie' is a nickname.
Gundreda marries John Vincent Forrest (1873-1953). He was a medical corps officer in WW1 and attained the rank of Colonel.
Relevant Henderson Genealogy
Can we work out the Henderson connection, if there is one ? Perhaps the Hendersons acquired the Ewart bible by purchase rather than through family ?
Oscar Henderson is a great name - only one appears in the BMD records! Born 7th Oct 1894, in Oakley House, Windsor Park (address matches!)
His mother was Martha née Pollock - which explains "To Dear Oscar from Grandmother Pollock 7th October 1901 "
James Henderson, Oscar's brother, died on 30th July 1963 but was of Oakley House, 36 Windsor Park, Belfast - (house in family for 69 years at least)
"Presented to my eldest Nephew James Henderson ... from his loving Aunt Minnie, Court? Barker? Dalkey, Ireland, 25th July 1880"
This must be Coust or Const Barker - they can be seen on the 1901 census in Blackrock, Dublin.
Can we find a Barker & Henderson marriage - yes! Francis Const Barker & Maria Henderson, 18th Sept 1862, Belmont Church , Co. Down
Also mentioned in Belfast Newsletter (19 Sep 1862) - seem to be rather well-to-do.
Family born & lives in England and then can be found in Blackrock, Dublin in 1901 & 1911.
That's it for the moment.
